Spotlight on Our Work
Lake Hills Elementary staff are committed to the success of all our students. We believe that every child in our care is capable of going to and succeeding in college and are COLLEGE BOUND! This year, we have consulted with No Excuses University to implement six exceptional systems designed to support our work to improve student learning. These are a Culture of Universal Achievement, Collaboration, Standards Alignment, Assessment, Data Management, and Intervention. Further, every classroom has adopted a college or university with which to develop a relationship. This focus on college readiness is a part of our Culture of Universal Achievement.
Further, all our classroom teachers and many other staff members take part in on-going vertical teams to improve the academic and social success of all children. These are the Instructional Leadership Team, focused in the area of reading instruction and the implementation of GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) strategies, the Title I Team, focused on math instruction and parent involvement, and the Positive Behavior Intervention Support Team, focused on social skills instruction and school culture.
