On Monday, the library will be closed prior to school and throughout the school day for 6th grade camp activities. The library will be open for homework club. Please plan ahead regarding your homework.

Hey 8th graders,

Yearbook has a new opportunity for you to select and share your favorite photos. Some of these photos can be baby or childhood pictures, group photos with your friends and of course, snapshots of your middle school moments.  When your ASB Leaders presented the personal ads to you, we received some feedback regarding the prices. Please know that you and your friends can go in and split the cost. For example, if you and your 9 friends want have a ½ page, then each of you can pay $20. Choose 1 photo, turn in your application and your favorite quote, and you’re good to go!  Do you have any questions? Come to the main office and speak with Ms. Woodworth.

It is time for the AVID COLLEGE WEEK announcements.

Thank you everyone for participating in COLLEGE WEEK. We hope that you had the chance to hear teacher stories about their college experience and start thinking about your own journey to college.

Yesterday’s trivia question was:

How much of an increase in earning potential does a bachelor's degree add to a recent graduate's average salary ?

The answer is $15,000. – That amount of money will add up in the work years you put in. Work 10 years and you will have earned an average of $150,000 more than a student that hasn’t earned a college degree.

Keep the college door open by learning good academic skills and becoming a well-rounded student.

Congratulations CJ Bagasin for being drawn as the winner from all those that submitted the correct answer.

Go to the Jubilee Counter at lunch to receive a coupon for the snack line.

Thank you to all the teachers that participated in the door decoration contest. Students and teachers both enjoyed putting together the doors and checking out all the cool and interesting colleges Tyee teachers went to. It was a tough competition this year with all the different materials used, useful trivia, and colorful doors.

The winner of this is Miss Jillian Sorensen! Congratulations! Miss Sorensen edged ahead of her competition with both sides of her door being decorated. She is in room 2204 if you haven't checked out her University of Washington Door.

Second place is tied between Mr Craig(room 1308), who went to Eastern University,  and Miss Yip(room 1311), who also went to University of Washington.

Congratulations again your prize will be delivered to you soon.
