OneNote

The OneNote Class Notebook is an app within Microsoft Teams that BSD teachers in One to One classrooms use to set up digital notebooks in their classes. Teachers use Class Notebook to deliver curriculum, review and grade students' assignments, and manage student collaboration. Using class Notebook, students are able to take notes, complete assignments, or collaborate with others wherever they go and access the content from anywhere.

 Accessing OneNote

OneNote Class Notebooks are a secure online environment that requires a username and password. To access Class Notebooks go to bsd405.sharepoint.com and enter your student’s BSD email on the login screen.  After entering the email, a new prompt will appear and you will select “Work or School” account.  This will open another prompt for the student’s password.  Once logged in, you will use the app launcher (waffle) in the upper left corner of the screen, and select OneNote.  This will open a page that displays all of the OneNote Notebooks your student has used.

 Username

The username is the student’s network login of s- and the student’s last name and first initial. For example, Jane Doe would use s-doej.

For students with duplicate last names and first initials, additional characters from the first name are appended to provide for a unique username for each student in the district.  For example, Joe Doe might use s-doejo and Joel Doe might use s-doejoe.

Contact your school’s office manager if your student cannot remember his or her username.

 Password

  • At the Secondary level, the password is whatever the student has chosen to be their password.
  • At the Elementary level, the password is s# and the student’s ID. For example: s#123456.

Student user accounts are considered school resources. Parents wishing to access the Class Notebooks online will need to know the Student login and password from their child.

If you are unsure how to navigate OneNote, having your student show you from their device can be a valuable exercise as they describe the structure of the course. Questions that your student is unable to answer should be directed to your student’s teacher.
