Summer Meals

Free Summer Meals for students aged 18 and under will be available starting July 7, 2025, at two school locations. Children may participate in the meal offerings at either school regardless of their age. Those over 18 may purchase meals: Breakfast $3.50; Lunch $5.50. Cash only.

Breakfast
Location: Stevenson Elementary School (14220 NE 8th Street) Dates: Monday to Thursday, July 7 to July 24, 2025 Times: 8:15 to 8:45 a.m.

Lunch
Location: Sammamish High School (100 140th Ave SE) Dates: Monday to Friday, July 7 to July 31, 2025 Times: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

SUN Bucks Grocery Program

SUN Bucks provides families with $120 for each of their eligible school-aged children to buy groceries during the summer months. Benefits are issued on an individual EBT card.

Most children are automatically enrolled in SUN Bucks if they:

Attend a school that offers the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program AND are individually qualified for free or reduced-priced meal benefits at school, OR

Are age 8-18 and a member of a household that receives benefits from SNAP (Basic Food), TANF or State-Funded Assistance.

Bellevue School District Nutrition Services will identify students who are automatically eligible for SUN Bucks and submit this information to DSHS in mid-May. If you have questions regarding your student’s qualification for free or reduced-priced meals for the 2024-2025 school year, please contact Nutrition Services at (425) 456-4507 or nutrition@bsd405.org. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Summer 2025 SUN Bucks benefits will be uploaded to the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card mailed to qualified students in 2024. Students newly qualified for school meal benefits will receive an EBT card in the mail between June and August. If your family has moved during the school year, please make sure an updated mailing address is current with the school district to ensure your EBT card is sent to the correct address. Address changes can be made using your Parent VUE account.

Families of students who do not automatically qualify can complete a summer EBT application through DSHS. Learn more about SUN Bucks and when the application will be available for 2025.

Summer Health Resources and Immunization Information

Summer is the perfect time to catch up on important health requirements and ensure your student is ready for the upcoming school year. Here are some important reminders and resources.

Back-to-School Immunization Requirements

New students enrolling in any grade must provide immunization records. Washington State law (RCW 28A.210.060, RCW 28A.210.080, and WAC 246.105.030) and Bellevue School District Policy 3413 require students to be properly immunized against certain diseases in order to attend school and preschool. Students without current immunizations or valid exemptions may be excluded from school until requirements are met. What Families Can Do:

Check your student's immunization status with your healthcare provider or through MyIR Mobile.
Schedule immunization appointments early, as clinics fill up quickly before the first day of school.
Submit updated immunization records to the school nurse in your student’s building.

Medication Authorization and Individual Health Plans

Individual Health Plans (IHPs) allow schools to plan for and respond to students who have life-threatening or other health conditions that may severely impact them at school. It is important for you to communicate with your school nurse to let them know about any health concerns that may impact your student's learning or safety at school. The school nurse will work with you and your student's medical provider to develop an IHP to help your student be safe, healthy, and successful at school. IHPs are required for students with potentially life-threatening health conditions such as diabetes, asthma -which may require the use of albuterol, food allergies - which may require the use of epinephrine, seizures, and certain cardiac, neurologic, or other medical conditions.

Individual health plans must be updated each school year.

Any student who may need to take medication of any kind at school must have a Medication Authorization Form on file. Washington state law defines medications as any substance used for treatment. This includes oral medications like tablets, pills, capsules, topical medication applied to the skin, eye drops, ear drops, nasal sprays, or any injectable medication. A Medication Authorization Form signed by a medical provider is required for both prescription and over-the-counter medications. All medication forms must be updated annually.

Immunizations and Health Care Services During the Summer

If you do not have a regular health care provider or if you need help locating a health clinic, contact the following local resources.

Highland Health Center - the International Community Health Services (ICHS) school-based health center is located adjacent to Highland Middle School at 15027 Bel-Red Road, Bellevue, WA.

Student Technology Services

For summer 2025, all elementary students' BSD issued laptops or iPads will be collected for reimaging over the summer. During this process computers and devices will be wiped and reset with a new operating system, Microsoft Office and other programs.

Please note: All student data will be deleted from these computers so please save files to OneDrive. If students need help to back up their data, they may contact their school technology specialist.

Students in grades 8 and 12 will be required to return their BSD issued laptops and peripherals to their schools. All other secondary students will keep their laptops over the summer.

Students not returning to the Bellevue School District in the fall will be required to return their BSD issued laptops and peripherals to their schools.

Any student unable to return their laptop and all technology accessories to their school by the last day of class, may drop off required items at the Helpdesk from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily at:

ParentVUE is a centralized hub through the Synergy Educational Platform that Bellevue School District uses to share information with parents and guardians. Families must complete the Online Student Verification Process each year. Through this yearly verification, we ask that families to update their student’s health and emergency contact information and submit documents. Health information shared in ParentVUE is only viewable by staff who support student health services.
