Jobsites and School-to-Work Program

ETP Jobsites (Non-Paid Work Experiences)
Before students gain paid jobs, they practice vocational skills by gaining hands-on work experience at non-paid jobsites within the BSD and across the city. These opportunities help students apply skills learned in the classroom to real-world work settings. Most students participate in 1–3 jobsites each school year, depending on individual needs.
Our nonpaid jobsites include:
- At-Work! Offices
- Bellden Café
- Bellevue Botanical Gardens
- Bellevue Youth Theater
- BSD Copy Center
- BSD Central Office Mail Delivery
- BSD Sherwood Forrest Elementary School
- BSD Stevenson Elementary School
- BSD Early Learning Dept.
- BSD Advanced Placement Dept.
- ETP Everbean Cafe
- ETP Transition Treasures Art (Fused Glass Art Program)
- Hopelink Foodbank
- Issaquah Fish Hatchery
- Jubilee Reach
- Kidsquest
- Kindering
- Overlake Hospital
- Silver Glen Senior Cooperative
ETP is always looking to expand our jobsite partnerships. If you know of a business who may be willing to host ETP students as volunteers, please contact Jen Strehle!
King County School-to-Work Program (STW)

STW is a King County program that partners with Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS) and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) to help students with disabilities graduate with a job and transition smoothly to adult life and support services. This generally occurs during a student's final year.
For questions about DDCS eligibility, contact:
Jennifer Strehle, Program Coordinator
How STW Works
- Students work with an Employment Specialist from At-Work! during their final year.
- At-Work! collaborates with educators and families to prepare students for adult services.
- Services include job training, benefits planning, and resource coordination.
- At-Work! is BSD's embedded employment vendor
Employment Goal
- The goal is for students to have a paid job by June of their final year (not guaranteed).
- If a student graduates without a job, At-Work! continues to provide supported employment services long-term.
For Students Not Eligible for DDCS
They still receive job exploration and training and connect with DVR before graduation for short-term job support & counseling.
