Attendance

Class attendance is one of the key factors that contribute to academic success. When a student is late, or misses a school day due to vacation/illness/appointment, they miss valuable instruction that often can’t be duplicated. Regular and prompt attendance is necessary if students are to profit fully from the learning experiences offered in school.  In recognition of our students’ unique family cultures and traditions, the district grants 5 Excused Absences each school year.  For vacations and other non-illness related absences beyond the 5 Excused Absences, we will code them as Unexcused.

School and class attendance are governed by both state and school district policies. All students who have irregular attendance and/or fail to comply with state, district and/or school attendance regulations shall be considered for interventions and consequences.

Please take attendance into consideration when planning future vacations, out of town absences or appointments.   We appreciate your help and understanding as we are working hard to help your student have a successful year. Please call if you have any questions or concerns.

Please report absences to [email protected] or call us at (425) 456-4303.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
