Early Entrance to Kindergarten

State and Bellevue School District guidelines require that students entering Kindergarten in the fall must be five years of age on or before August 31. However, a child whose birth date falls on or between September 1 and October 31 may enter kindergarten if they meet the early entrance requirements.

The early entrance process involves an objective evaluation of your child’s cognitive, fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, communication, and social/emotional development. To increase the likelihood that your child will be successful in their first year of school, they will be expected to meet standards approximately six months above their chronological age in all areas assessed.

Learn more about Early Entrance to Kindergarten (EEK) by reading Procedure 3110.1P.

Applications for early entrance to kindergarten are now closed for the 2024-2025 school year.

Early entrance to kindergarten applications for the 2025-26 school year, will open on March 1, 2025.

We will hold a TEAMS information meeting in February 2025. Check back in January 2025 for the date and time.
