Program Details
Elementary Program
The elementary school model for the Mandarin Dual Language program consists of 325 minutes of daily instruction (200 minutes on Wednesdays) including time spent with elementary specialists (not including lunch and recesses). This totals 1500 minutes of instruction per week. Specialists provided in English include library, physical education, art and music.
Without specialist instruction time, classroom time equals 285 minute per day (200 minutes on Wednesdays). This totals to 1340 minutes per week. All students receive the instructional program as detailed below.

Middle School Program
The middle school model for the Mandarin Dual Language Program offers at least two classes per day in Chinese to further develop a student’s proficiency while providing practical application and use of language through content area instruction.

High School Program
The high school Mandarin Dual Language Program offers two tracks for students based on their level of proficiency. Track 1 begins with Chinese 5 (AP) and Track 2 begins with Chinese 4. Track 2 students will skip Chinese 6 and rejoin their cohort in the 11th grade to complete the program together. The high school program offers one class per day in Chinese and the rest of the classes are taught in English.
