K-5 Social Studies Textbook Adoption Committee
Teaching and Learning Department is seeking a K-5 review committee to provide feedback on curricular materials and pacing for the K-5 Social Studies Textbook Adoption.
Purpose
The purpose of the K-5 Social Studies Textbook Adoption Committee is to carry out the instructional materials selection process and make a recommendation to the Instructional Materials Committee based upon objective evidence gathered during the process. The decision will be based on what is in the best interest of our students, alignment with Washington State Social Studies and C3 Framework Standards, and district mission and core values.

We aim to have a well-rounded committee to represent the many perspectives and experiences of our students, families and staff.

- Multilingual Learners Facilitator or Developer
- Special Education Teacher or Developer
- Parent/Family/Community Representative(s)
The Parent/Family/Community committee members will be selected from the applications submitted.
Role
- Attend scheduled meetings
- Serve as a communication link to the community they represent
- Assist in collecting data regarding the instructional materials under consideration
- Through a consensus process, make a formal recommendation to the Instructional Materials Committee
