Academic English Development Adoption Committee
Purpose
The purpose of the Academic English Development Adoption Committee is to carry out the textbook selection process and make a recommendation to the Instructional Materials Committee based upon objective evidence. The committee will include teacher representatives, building/district administration, and community representation. The decision will be based on what is in the best interest of our students, alignment with WIDA language development standards, and our district mission and core values.

The representation on the Adoption Committee is as follows:
- MLL Curriculum Developers (Co-Facilitators)
- Course Teacher(s)
- Special Education Teacher(s)
- School Administrator(s)
- Parent/Family/Community Representative(s)
Role
The role of the members of Academic English Development Adoption Committee is:
- Attend scheduled meetings
- Serve as a communication link to the community they represent
- Assist in collecting data regarding the instructional materials under consideration
- Through a consensus process, make a formal recommendation to the Instructional Materials Committee
Language Access
We welcome participation in any language–in fact, fluency in a language other than English is of great value to this committee. Interpretation will be available for committee meetings.
