When and Where Will Testing Take Place?

BSD Students

In compliance with Washington State Senate Bill SB5072, ’Advancing Equity in Programs for Highly Capable Students,’ testing for currently enrolled BSD students will occur during the school day at the students’ school site between mid-November 2025 and mid-February 2026 (or optional Saturday testing, available when applying).  Secondary students begin testing after winter break (including optional Saturday testing).  Dates are coordinated with each school.  Exact date(s) of testing are determined by the number of applications received and space availability at each school.  Parents will receive an email with test details approximately two weeks before their student’s scheduled test date.  Please make every effort to have your student attend the date(s) assigned to them.  If your student is sick on the day of the testing or the night before, please respond to the testing information email that was sent to you to let us know.  If there are extenuating circumstances, we may be able to reschedule your student's test.  Illness during testing is not considered a valid reason for appeal.

Private/Home-School Students
(that live within BSD)

Bellevue School District resident students who are referred for testing who attend private school or home-school will be scheduled to test in early to mid-December.  Parents will receive an email with the test details approximately two weeks before their student’s scheduled test date.  Please make every effort to have your student attend the date assigned to them.  If your student is sick on the day of the testing or night before, please respond to the testing information email that was sent to you to let us know.  If there are extenuating circumstances, we may be able to reschedule your student's test.  Illness during testing is not considered a valid reason for appeal.

Test time is approximately 8:00 am – 1:30 pm.  End times can vary.
