BREADCRUMB

4120: School and District Support Organizations

  • 4000: Community
4120: School and District Support Organizations

Adoption Date: Oct. 2, 2019

The Board encourages the formation of both school support organizations (such as PTSA’s, booster clubs, or similar organizations) at each school building and district wide support organizations (such as PTSA Councils, Bellevue Schools Foundation, or similar organizations) for the purpose of providing an opportunity through which parents, teachers and students may unite their efforts and interests to enhance school programming.

Booster clubs and/or special interest organizations, whether they support school specific or district wide activities, through either financial and/or other resources, may be formed to support and strengthen approved activities conducted within the school or district.

In order to be recognized as a school support organization, all such groups must receive approval prior to engaging in activities in support of school or district programming. The school principal approves a school specific organization and the Superintendent /Designee approves a district wide organization. Staff participation, cooperation and support are encouraged in such recognized organizations.

The Board directs the Superintendent/Designee to establish procedures to recognize a school or district support organization.
