Student Athletes Show Commitment on Signing Day 2025

Student Athletes Show Commitment on Signing Day 2025

6.12.25 Update: Sammamish High School will hold their signing day on Thursday, June 12. SHS athlete names are listed below.

For graduating student athletes, Signing Day marks the culmination of years of hard work athletically and academically. At several of BSD’s comprehensive high schools, student athletes were recently recognized by family, friends and coaches who gathered to celebrate students’ dedication to take their talents to the next level.

Each year, a fraction of student athletes transition from high school sports to intercollegiate athletics. With thousands of high schools across the nation producing talented athletes each year, there is intense competition for spots on collegiate teams. According to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), nearly eight million students across the nation currently participate in high school athletics. Just about 6.6% go on to compete as NCAA athletes.

Collegiate athletics offers opportunities for scholarships, mentorship and greater competition. Balancing the demands of academics with the rigors of training requires discipline and time management skills. Despite the challenges, the allure of collegiate athletics represents not just a chance to pursue a passion but also a pathway to personal growth, character development and lifelong friendships.

The Bellevue School District congratulates all student athletes who have committed to university athletic programs and excelled in their athletic and academic pursuits.
