School Board Director Resignation – District 3
At the Bellevue School District School Board meeting on March 13, 2025, Director Cindy Rogan announced her resignation from the School Board, effective April 4. Director Rogan serves the third district and has been a valuable member of our school community, contributing her time, expertise and passion for education to benefit students, staff and families.
Director Rogan has served on the Bellevue School Board since March 2024, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. During her term on the board, Director Rogan was an integral part of approving our five-year Strategic Plan, ensuring the incorporation of We Belong, We Learn, We Lead into nearly all aspects of board leadership and governance. In her public resignation announcement, she expressed her deep gratitude to the board for their grace and commitment to our students’ well-being and learning.
Dr. Aramaki shared:
We extend our deep appreciation to Director Rogan for her service to the Bellevue School District, first as a district administrator and most recently as a school board director. She has had a positive impact on our district in very challenging times. We are grateful for her optimistic leadership and for all that she has done for students, families and staff.
The Bellevue School Board will immediately begin the process of appointing a new School Board Director to fill the vacancy that will be left by Director Rogan. The board is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining a focus on the continued success and well-being of our students.
School Board Vacancy Nomination and Application Process
In accordance with Board Policy 1114 and Procedure 1114P (Board Member Resignation and Vacancy) and RCW 28A.343.370, members of the community are encouraged to apply for the position or nominate candidates for the position. Nominees and applicants must be registered voters who reside in Director District 3.
The nomination and application forms are available online. All nominations and applications must be received by Friday, March 28, 2025, by 12:00 p.m. (Note: candidates may apply for this position without being nominated.)
