Launching the Modern Hebrew Bilingual Program at Phantom Lake Elementary

Launching the Modern Hebrew Bilingual Program at Phantom Lake Elementary

Dear Bellevue School District Families and Community Members:

At our September 8 community gathering, we were excited to share that Bellevue School District plans to launch a Modern Hebrew Bilingual Program, beginning with kindergarten at Phantom Lake Elementary School in the 2027-2028 school year.

This important milestone reflects the strong interest and engagement of our community, as well as our commitment to expanding opportunities for multilingualism, biliteracy, and cultural learning for all students.

Modern Hebrew Bilingual Program Community Gathering

As we continue planning for the program's future, we invite Phantom Lake Elementary families and anyone interested in the Modern Hebrew Bilingual Program to join us for a community event:

Date: Thursday, September 24, 2026
Time: 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Location: Phantom Lake Elementary School (1050 160th Ave. SE, Bellevue, WA 98008)

This gathering will be an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the Modern Hebrew Bilingual Program
  • Ask questions and hear about next steps
  • Meet other families interested in the program
  • Connect with the Phantom Lake Elementary community
  • Begin imagining together what this new opportunity can mean for our children and our community

Add the event to your calendar.

We know that launching a new program is a journey, and there will be many details to work through along the way. We are committed to approaching this work thoughtfully and collaboratively, with students and families at the center of our decision-making. Your voice, partnership, and support are essential as we continue building a program that reflects the strengths, aspirations, and diversity of our community.

We look forward to coming together on September 24 and continuing this exciting conversation.
