Jubilee REACH Supports BSD Schools With Annual Day of Service
On Saturday, August 27, residents from across the Bellevue community came together to support district schools as a part of Jubilee REACH Service Day. This annual event brings together educators, students, parents and volunteers from all over the Eastside community — primarily from local churches, businesses and others affiliated with Jubilee REACH.
Schools identify projects for volunteers to support, and Jubilee REACH organizes and leads the volunteers. Projects range from maintaining facilities, preparing classrooms, and organizing supplies in preparation for the upcoming school year. Jubilee Service Day started in 2005 and has grown to now include over 3,000 volunteers and 22 schools.
Ardmore Elementary art educator, Jessica Holloway, has participated in Jubilee Service Day for the past seven years. She appreciates working alongside the volunteers and marvels at how big projects get completed in record time when everyone pitches in.
She recently shared,
“Today was Jubilee REACH Service Day at Ardmore. Every year, I am floored and humbled by the loving service these volunteers provide. This year, a willing team persevered to make over 350 sketchbooks AND assemble our new drying rack, with very few clear directions from the manufacturer. I am so grateful!!!”
