February Highlights CTE In BSD
Each February, the achievements and value of Career and Technical Education (CTE) in schools is acknowledged during National CTE Month. The Bellevue School District takes this opportunity to recognize our dedicated CTE educators and our many students who take part in CTE courses and offerings.
CTE provides BSD students the opportunity to engage in career-connected learning through a wide variety of programs. Students participate in authentic, meaningful experiences that connect their learning to real world applications. CTE courses explore professional opportunities and allow students to unravel how core school subjects like math, science, reading and writing are used in careers like engineering, green technology, health care, construction and a multitude of other professions. Many CTE courses include college credit and industry recognized certifications (IRCs) which prepare students for postsecondary education and employment.
High quality instructional partnerships with business, industry and higher education leaders prepare BSD students to succeed in high demand occupations by gaining 21st Century skills. Bellevue School District CTE programs have established relationships with industry experts like Microsoft Technology Education and Learning Support (TEALS), Bellevue College, Washington Network for Innovative Careers (WANIC), and the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County.
