BSD’s New Welcome Center, Coming Soon!

Later this month renovations will begin for the new Bellevue School District Welcome Center. Located inside the Educational Service Center West building. The Welcome Center will serve as a central location to connect district families to the services, supports and resources available through a variety of district departments. Once open, families can visit the Welcome Center to learn more about the district and get support and guidance to navigate the system.

Planning for the Welcome Center is steered by the Welcome Center Design Team. The Design Team includes staff members and district partners representing organizations who serve families and students who have been historically the furthest from educational justice. Among the 23 committee leaders are representatives from Africans on the Eastside, Mary’s Place, Eastside Youth Coalition, and Eastside for All. Families receiving multilingual and special education support are also a part of the group to help structure the Welcome Center.

The Welcome Center hopes to complete the first phase of construction in early November 2024 and plans to invite our learning community soon thereafter to visit the space and learn more.
