New to the Board is Director Tracy Mayclin, a proud Bellevue School District alumna and parent of a student in the class of 2028. She brings deep community roots and a long-standing commitment to public education. After being sworn in, Mayclin shared:

“I look forward to working with my fellow board members, educators, and the Bellevue community to ensure that every student has the support, opportunity and encouragement they need to thrive, not just academically, but as confident, compassionate and capable individuals.”

Director Mayclin brings a strong accounting background, which will be hugely beneficial as the district navigates ongoing state funding challenges.

Director Jane Aras was elected to a second term and looks forward to continuing her work on the Board. She was also voted by the Board to continue serving as its legislative representative to the Washington State Legislature. In this role, she has been an effective advocate for increased funding and resources for the Bellevue School District and public education statewide. Director Aras reaffirmed her commitment, stating,

“I’m ready to do the work.”

Superintendent Aramaki shared,

“School board leadership is critical to the flourishing of a school district, and we are so fortunate to have an incredible school board. Bellevue’s board was recently recognized by the Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA) as a 2025 Board of Distinction for their leadership and commitment to every student. I’m thrilled to have Director Aras continuing for another four years and recognize her contributions, particularly in legislative advocacy. I’m also excited to have sworn in our newest board director, Tracy Mayclin, who brings a wealth of experience as a parent, volunteer, PTSA leader, and financial expert.”
