BSD Proudly Celebrates its Educators and Applauds Schools for their Achievements as recognized through the Washington School Recognition Program

BSD Proudly Celebrates its Educators and Applauds Schools for their Achievements as recognized through the Washington School Recognition Program

Bellevue, WA – The Bellevue School District proudly celebrates the dedication and impact of its educators on this Teacher Appreciation Day and every day. Teachers play an invaluable role in shaping the future, fostering curiosity, and empowering students to reach their full potential. The district has dedicated a special episode of its Voices of Bellevue Podcast to honor their contributions, highlighting their educators’ impact on teaching and learning.

BSD National Board Certification District Coordinator, Anna Hatlestad, shares,

"With our strategic plan being 'We Belong, We Learn, We Lead,' I would say you can't have the 'We Learn or We Lead' until the 'We Belong' is taken care of first, and good teachers do this every day as they welcome their students in their classroom and see them for who they are, meet them where they're at, and don't give up on them."

Superintendent Kelly Aramaki, in a recent blog post, spotlighted all of BSD's outstanding educators, stating,

“Thank you to the amazing teachers and staff in our schools and district office who help make Bellevue a world-class school district. We have the most incredible educators who work day in and day out to make sure our children are thriving. This week and through the end of the school year, let's show up for them and share our collective appreciation for the amazing work they do,” reinforcing our collective gratitude for their unwavering commitment to learning and growth.

In addition to celebrating BSD educators, the State Board of Education (SBE), the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC) jointly recognized schools through the Washington School Recognition Program for the 2023-2024 school year. This distinction highlights their exceptional achievements and growth, reinforcing their commitment to excellence in education. Honorees include:

Bennett Elementary School (Growth)

Cherry Crest Elementary School (Achievement)

Clyde Hill Elementary (Achievement)

International School (Achievement)

Jing Mei Elementary School (Achievement & Growth)

Lake Hills Elementary School (Growth)

Medina Elementary School (Achievement & Growth)

Somerset Elementary School (Achievement)

Woodridge Elementary School (Growth)

We commend these schools and educators for their dedication to fostering student success and building vibrant learning communities. Congratulations to all our educators and school leaders who inspire progress and excellence daily!
