Bellevue School District Welcomes New Board Director Following Director Cindy Rogan’s Resignation
At the March 31 Special Meeting of School Board Directors, interviews were held to determine the newest school board member of the Bellevue School District.
At the March 13, 2025, Bellevue School Board meeting, Director Cindy Rogan announced her resignation from the board, effective April 4, 2025. A respected leader representing Director District 3, Director Rogan has been a valued member of the school community, contributing her time, expertise, and passion for education to benefit students, staff, and families.
Director Rogan joined the Bellevue School Board in March 2024, where she played a pivotal role in advancing the district's five-year Strategic Plan. Her work ensured the integration of We Belong, We Learn, We Lead principles into nearly all aspects of board leadership and governance. In her resignation announcement, Director Rogan expressed her gratitude to the board, acknowledging their unwavering grace and commitment to the well-being and learning of students.
Superintendent Dr. Aramaki praised Director Rogan’s contributions, saying,
“We extend our deep appreciation to Director Rogan for her service to the Bellevue School District, first as a district administrator and most recently as a school board director. She has had a positive impact on our district in very challenging times. We are grateful for her optimistic leadership and for all that she has done for students, families, and staff.”
The Bellevue School Board is pleased to announce that the vacancy created by Director Rogan’s departure will be filled by Marta Trilles, who will step into the role as the Director for District 3. As a Bellevue community member and Bellevue School District staff member since 2018, Ms. Trilles has built strong and meaningful connections with students, staff, families, and community partners. Ms. Trilles possesses a strong commitment to equity in education and student success and strongly believes in the power of an inclusive and supportive school community. Her experience and passion will be of great value to the Board’s work for the remainder of the year and beyond.
The newly appointed board director will officially be sworn in at the regular school board meeting on April 17, 2025. The appointee will serve until the expiration of the current term in November 2025, after which the position will be filled through a general election. The selected individual is eligible to run for election, along with any other candidates who file during the designated King County Elections filing period.
