Bellevue School District Announces the Appointment of Marta Trilles as Bellevue School District’s New District 3 Director
Bellevue, WA — The Bellevue School District is proud to announce the appointment of Marta Trilles as the new Director for District 3. Following the resignation of Director Cindy Rogan, who will officially step down on April 4, 2025, Ms. Trilles was appointed at a Special Board Meeting on March 31st after a thorough interview process conducted by the School Board. She will serve in this role from April 17, 2025, until the end of the current term, November 2025. Ms. Trilles is eligible to run for the position in the next general election.
An advocate for public education, Ms. Trilles brings a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to student belonging in her new role. Holding degrees in economics and marketing, Ms. Trilles has been an active member of the Bellevue community and its schools since moving to the United States in 2017.

As a school board director, I will work tirelessly to create opportunities where our beloved students, families, and staff can belong, learn, and lead together. "Her dedication to fostering inclusive educational environments has been exemplified through her leadership in creating the district’s first language access program, which ensures that all families can actively engage with and support their students’ education.
Ms. Trilles moved to Bellevue in 2017 with her husband and two sons, who attended Chinook Middle School and Bellevue High School. She quickly became a dedicated community leader, serving in her son’s school’s Parent-Teacher-Student Associations (PTSAs) and participating in the Bellevue School District's Equity Advisory and Advocacy Collaborative. Her commitment to community engagement extended further as she completed the Leadership Eastside program and was a member of the City of Bellevue's Diversity Advisory Network.
In January 2025, Ms. Trilles became a naturalized U.S. citizen, underscoring her dedication to contributing meaningfully to her community. As a newly appointed school board director, Ms. Trilles’s vision focuses on ensuring every student in the district has access to a high-quality education, every family feels heard and valued, and every staff member receives the resources and support necessary to help students thrive.
