Bellevue School Board Director Monica Webster to Step Down

Bellevue School Board Director Monica Webster to Step Down

Bellevue, WA — The Bellevue School District announces that Director Monica Webster, who represents District 4 on the Bellevue School Board, has stepped down from her role at the conclusion of the School Board meeting on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Director Webster’s resignation is due to personal reasons.

Elected in November 2023, Director Webster contributed significant expertise to the Board, drawing on her extensive involvement with the district through various roles, including former President of the Parent Alliance for Black Scholars, member of the Equity Advisory and Advocacy Collaborative, the Family Engagement Committee, the Audit and Finance Advisory Council, and several other initiatives. She also served in multiple community-based organizations throughout the years, where she worked to advance health equity. Most recently, she facilitated a meaningful panel discussion with the BSD Community, entitled “Looking for the Helpers,” underscoring the importance of identifying resources and supports for youth in times of crisis.

Reflecting on her decision, Director Webster shared:

Throughout my time on the Board, I have remained dedicated to supporting efforts that help amplify student voice, promote a sense of belonging for all students, and thoughtfully integrate frameworks like the EDDM into our decision-making processes. I truly believe that creating an environment where every student feels valued and supported is essential to their success and the success of this district.

Superintendent Dr. Kelly Aramaki expressed his gratitude for Director Webster’s service:

“We are indebted to Director Webster for her impactful contributions to the Bellevue School District both as a parent and school board director. She has made a lasting, positive impact on our students, families, and staff. Although she’s stepping off the board, her impact will continue to be felt for years to come. Please join me in expressing our heartfelt gratitude for Director Webster’s dedicated service and commitment to building a beloved community here in the Bellevue School District.”

The Bellevue School Board will initiate the process of appointing a new Director to fill the vacancy left by Director Webster.  Information regarding the appointment process will be shared with the community in the coming weeks.
