Bellevue School Board Director Marta Trilles to Step Down

Bellevue School Board Director Marta Trilles to Step Down

Bellevue, WA — The Bellevue School District announced today that Director Marta Trilles, who represents District 3 on the Bellevue School Board, will step down from her role at the conclusion of the School Board meeting on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Director Trilles’ resignation comes due to personal family reasons.

Appointed in April 2025, Director Trilles brought extensive experience to the Board, having served the district in multiple capacities. Most notably, she was the first Language Access Coordinator in the State of Washington, where she developed innovative processes to expand access for families who speak a language other than English at home.

Reflecting on her decision, Director Trilles shared:

“I love the Bellevue School District and am proud to have served this community as a staff member and as a board director. I joined the Board to ensure every student has access to high-quality education, every family feels heard and valued, and every staff member receives the support they need to help students thrive. Although I regret not being able to continue as board director at this time to take care of my family, I want the community to know that I am endorsing Tracy Mayclin, the other candidate for my board seat. She is a strong, positive leader who has demonstrated commitment to our district students, staff, and families through her leadership in the PTSA.”

The Director District 3 position will appear on the ballot in the King County General Election on November 4, 2025. If the position remains unfilled following the election, the Bellevue School Board will initiate the process of appointing a new Director to fill the vacancy.

Superintendent Dr. Kelly Aramaki expressed his gratitude for Director Trilles’ service:

“We are deeply grateful for Director Trilles’ contributions to the Bellevue School District and the positive impact she has had on students, families, and staff. Please join me in thanking her for her service and commitment to our community.”

Further information will be shared with the community following the October 2 board meeting.
