Apply to be on the Audit and Finance Advisory Council
The Bellevue School District is seeking community members to serve on our Audit and Finance Advisory Council that was approved by the School Board. The purpose of the council is to:
- Assist the School Board in achieving its financial oversight responsibility through the development of financial and audit reporting processes.
- Provide an independent perspective and review of financial decision-making, reporting, and internal control.
Roles and Responsibilities
The district is looking for up to three community members to serve alongside two school board directors; Superintendent Aramaki; Jason Golec, Executive Director of Business and Finance; and John Harrison, Chief of Staff. We are anticipating that the first meeting will be in May. The council will meet monthly, and duties and responsibilities of members will include:
- Ensuring that the budget supports the district's strategic priorities and annual goals.
- Reviewing financial statements.
- Analyzing revenue sources and forecasted expenditures.
- Monitoring and reviewing the annual budget and four-year projected budget.
- Reviewing audit reports and findings.
- Periodically reporting the Council's actions and proposing any necessary action to the Board.
