Middle and high school students pose with 2025 The BOOM Experience speaker, Mark Curry

The BOOM (Breaking Out Of the Margins) Experience, Bellevue School District’s annual event for students in grades 8-12, was held on Thursday, April 3, 2025. This one-day event offered students the opportunity to connect, build community, and find encouragement through engaging workshops and speakers.

As a Creator of her Future World, Rediet Giday’s story is one of resilience, creativity, and community. As a student at Newport High School in the Bellevue School District, Rediet's journey from Ethiopia to the U.S. has been marked by challenges and triumphs. One such victory is being recently named the recipient of the 2025 Robert Toney Williams' Scholarship for Black Excellence in the Arts, Journalism, and Communication.
