District Testimonials

Dr. Kelly Aramaki

Bellevue is a beloved community that cares for one another and works together to raise the next generation who are capable, kind and committed to making the world a better place. Together, we are Bellevue.

Maria Barrios, BSD Parent and BSF Trustee

The youth mental health crisis in America awakened me to take action, not to cower in fear. Research shows that early intervention and treatment can make a difference for our young people. That’s why I’m on a mission to support and bring the best mental health support for our kids through the Bellevue Schools Foundation. They deserve a chance to thrive and succeed and they need to know they are not alone.”

Parker Kleweno, 5th Grade Student

I love the programs at Bennett. Chess club, Spanish class and music are my favorites!!!

Rachit Shah, 3rd Grade Student

Ms. Strazulla’s staff and teachers have put in a lot of efforts in creating a safe and happy environment at school for the kids. It is great to see fun activities like market day, STEM nights, field trips, and music recitals run at the school. The leadership program is an excellent program promoting a sense of responsibility and confidence at a young age. We appreciate all your efforts.

Deepa Patten, BSD Parent and Bellevue Schools Foundation Trustee

Watching Kindergarteners use basic programming skills to move robots is an experience that you can only get in the Bellevue School District. The high-quality educational opportunities that our students have access to is only possible through the support of the community. The Bellevue Schools Foundation has been the key community partner to fund educational innovation in a way you can't find anywhere else in the state, so our students learn the skills to be 21st century thinkers starting in preschool.

Best school and the most fantastic teachers who are so invested in the growth and development of kids. My daughter’s learning graph has accelerated so much. We are beyond satisfied. Thank you, Bennett Elementary School.

Daveen Cordell, 1st Grade Teacher

It is my 24th year teaching in the Bellevue School District, my 22nd at Bennett! I love being a teacher at Bennett Elementary. Bennett is a fantastic school, with a great staff, and amazing students and parents! The staff at Bennett strive to work together for every student focusing on researched-based methods, data and racial equity. As a teacher, I want to help every student feel a sense of belonging, success, and making their best get better. I am proud to be a Bennett Bulldog!

Jessica Strazzulla, Principal

Our Bennett community is truly special — a welcoming and supportive environment where uniqueness is celebrated. Our dedicated staff brings passion, genuine care and expertise to enrich the educational journey, while our amazing and caring students are thought leaders poised to offer so much to the world Together, we create a nurturing space that goes beyond academics, fostering growth, empathy, and a sense of belonging for all. Serving as Bennett’s principal is an honor and privilege.

Malinda Elien, BSD Parent and Bellevue Schools Foundation Trustee

We are happy to be in Bellevue because of the innovative educational opportunities that make Bellevue School District unique — including the integration of Computer Science into our science classes. My daughter's favorite part of 8th grade science was the opportunity to learn how to use computer modeling to explore magnetism, including understanding conditional variables. The Bellevue Schools Foundation has been the key funding partner allowing Bellevue to offer relevant learning opportunities like these to every one of our students, ensuring they have the educational foundations to succeed in whatever they do.

Yayoi Brown and Nayely Ruiz, Teachers

Highland Middle School is a diverse community where so many languages and cultures are represented. People truly care about one another here. We enjoy every day, learning with our students!

Ms. Mariela Stockdale, Graduation Success Coach

Being a Graduation Succes Coach at Highland has brought many accomplishments to my professional and personal life. Every day I work with students on self-advocacy, communication skills, accountability and goal setting to prepare them for success in high school and beyond.

Ms. Liliana Benavides, Family Service Specialist

I love helping families in need, and building a relationship with them is crucial for me. When they reach out to me and I help them to meet their basic needs such as food, housing and medical care, parents experience less stress. This is good for our students to be successful at school.

Fabian Rios, College and Career Advisor

We guide our students with academic and college counselors that build pathways for those aiming for college, technical careers, immediate employment, or personal explorations after graduation. We also develop their abilities to protect their mental health through courses and individual counseling. My role is to get students and their families exploring a broad range of training and career options and resources starting in 9th grade and their next steps after Newport.

Dion Yahoudy, Principal

Newport can help your students find their purpose. Through experience and exploration inside and outside the classroom, students find the subject that, with fascination, will drive them through education to a career they will pursue with vigor and success.
