October 2023

• Share demographer data – by Friday, October 20
• Conduct community forums at each of BSD’s five comprehensive middle schools, where participants can review demographers’ findings and discuss the implications

• Superintendent to work with the School Board and develop a process for community engagement to prioritize our budget and expenditures as we look for ways to reduce spending 
• District staff and School Board – working with our legislators to advocate for legislative options to help address our budget shortfall 

February 2024

• Conduct community forums and surveys to gather feedback on the recommendation

• Equitable and targeted outreach to specific groups

• Superintendent revises recommendations based on community feedback

March 2024

• Superintendent presents recommendation to the School Board for approval
