Winter Season 2:
Extended REACH will be from 01/30/18 to 04/06/18
We are starting a club called Extended REACH in the Tillicum Cafeteria from 4:00 to 4:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Fridays. We will be providing a safe environment for students to study, do homework & get help from peer tutors and adults. It’s a great way for students to get their grades up and keep them up. On Fridays we will have an optional day, students will be able to go outside and play sports of their choice. If weather is a factor, we will stay inside and play board games or students can study.
Student tutors as well as adult tutors are in need, if anyone would like to help the students or know of anyone who would like to help, please notify Shaler or Rob.
If anyone would like to volunteer for Extended REACH or any of our sports or activities, that would be very helpful. Please email us and let us know.

Every Clip Counts!
Thank you for your participation in our Box Tops Collection at Tillicum! We’ve collected $110 in Box Tops this fall! On average we earn between $300-400 per year.
BUT WHAT IF THIS YEAR:
You submitted just 10 Box Tops? Our earnings would reach $660! Increase your collecting power by asking family and friends to clip these incentives, too! Don’t wait too long, there are expiration dates. Submit frequently so we earn every dime before they expire. Get inspired to CLIP and have your student submit your collection to the office today.
UPDATE: The Labels for Education program has been discontinued.

Parent Information Nights
To help families transition to their next step in the 2018-19 school year, every neighborhood school offers a parent information session for incoming Kindergartners, incoming 6th graders and incoming 9th graders. Some high schools have information sessions for all grades. Additionally, each choice school hosts an information night for families who may be interested in applying.
Visit the district website for a complete schedule of all schools:
Reminder to Vote
Special Election ballots have been mailed to all Washington residents. For Bellevue residents, these ballots will include three funding levies for the Bellevue School District (BSD): an Educational & Operations Levy, a Technology & Capital Projects Levy, and a School Bus Levy.
More information on each of these levies can be found at http://www.bsd405.org/2017/12/levies.
We remind our school communities to set a good example for your students, take part in our democracy, and return your ballots before the February 13th deadline.
We work to ensure that the news we share here is relevant for students and families, and we welcome news from families and the many individuals, clubs, teams, and organizations that support our school community. Please submissions directly to our office.
Want the district to showcase your student’s achievements on the district webpage and in this newsletter? Submit information about awards your student has earned to the district’s Communications office! Simply write one to two paragraphs answering who, what, when, where and why about your student’s accomplishment. If possible, include a photo of your student to be posted with the story. Send award submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lost & Found!
The box in the main office is currently overflowing with jackets, hats, shoes, water bottles, lunch boxes & other miscellaneous items. Please stop by to look through the pile & claim what belongs to your student. Note: if an item has a student’s name on it, we make sure it is delivered directly to that person.
Lost & found items are donated at the end of each month.
Check Grades Online Weekly
Wondering how your student is doing in classes? Be sure to check grades online. Grades are updated regularly by teachers and our expectation is that parents are checking progress weekly via the online grade portal. With teachers seeing 140+ students each day the reality is that teachers are unable to provide individual updates on assignments and test scores, and the online grade viewer is our primary method for communicating this information. More information about grade checking can be found online at: http://www.bsd405.org/departments/district-technology/grades-attendance/
