Did you know the City of Bellevue funds 15 hours a week of support for Sherwood Forest Elementary? With their funding we are able to have Alana Simms’s support to connect you to many community resources. Our mission is to give information and referral to the services families need to send children to school ready to learn and the following resources are some of the types of support that are provided:

  • Computer classes
  • ESL classes
  • Food programs
  • Family support
  • Transportation
  • Counseling
  • Health/dental care programs.
  • Housing support
  • Interpreter
  • Emergency assistance
  • Childcare referrals
  • Immigration referrals
  • Parenting classes
  • Domestic violence service
  • Legal Counsel
  • How to get connected to resources in the community like holiday programs and Baby Corner

Services Available

Congregations for Kids Good Start Back to School Project September 2012 has begun. Please submit one application per family to receive a new back pack or school supplies in the Bellevue School District. Please return your form as soon as possible to your teacher or directly to the Family Connection Center at Sherwood Forest.

NEW THIS YEAR Backpacks will be picked up at the school that each child will attend in September 2012.

¿Tiene usted niños que asisten a las escuelas públicas de Bellevue y que necesitan útiles escolares el próximo año? Usted podría calificar para nuestro programa de útiles escolares gratuitos de “Congregaciones Para los Niños.”

Breaktime/Mealtime
If your child is in Headstart or qualify for free and reduced lunch you can be a part of Breaktime/Mealtime. This is a program that provides breakfast and lunch during MID-WINTER BREAK and SPRING BREAK. Please come in and sign up so that you can also receive a large box full of delicious food. Sign up as soon as possible!

The Workforce Education Programs and King County Community and Technical Colleges offers tuition or funds through King county Community Tech Colleges to help support those looking for education and work.

1. BFET or Basic Food Employment and Training to families who receive food stamps to get books and fees for college.
2. Opportunity Grants for low income students
3. Work first program those who receive TANF
4. Worker Retraining to pay for training expenses for those unemployed and who want help to gain skills and certification needed to be competitive in today’s job market.
