Open Enrollment is for current Bellevue School District residents who wish to attend a school other than their assigned neighborhood school.

We are no longer accepting applications. The deadline was 4:30 p.m. on February 13, 2017.

Transitioning to Kindergarten, 6th Grade and 9th Grade

To help families transition to the next step in their child’s education, every neighborhood school holds an information session for incoming Kindergartners, current 5th graders and current 8th graders. If you are unsure which school your child will attend, visit our “Find Your School” page.

Early Entrance to Kindergarten

In accordance to state law, children must turn 5 years old before Sept. 1 to begin Kindergarten. However, a child whose birth date falls on or between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30 may enter Kindergarten if he or she meets the early entrance requirements.

Choice Schools & Programs

Our choice schools and programs offer unique learning environments to any student in the Bellevue School District. Depending on the program, enrollment begins in kindergarten or 6th grade and is done through a lottery process.

Dual Language Students

Spanish Dual Language Program

Grades K-5

Students of both Spanish and English language backgrounds benefit from participating in the Spanish Dual Language Program. Students learn to read, write and speak proficiently in two languages, with near native skill by the time they complete fifth grade.

Lion Dance at Jing Mei

Jing Mei Elementary

Grades K-5

Jing Mei teaches Mandarin Chinese and English using dual language two-way immersion model. Two-way immersion means student enrollment in the classes is balanced between native Mandarin speakers and Non-Mandarin speakers.

Puesta del Sol Students

Puesta del Sol Elementary

Grades K-5

Students at Puesta del Sol are taught the standard Bellevue School District curriculum, but receive instruction in Spanish. Classroom teachers have native or near-native ability in the Spanish language and are chosen for their skills and their commitment to the goals of the program.

Big Picture School

Grades 6-12

Big Picture School is a close-knit community that fosters academic relationships, personalized experiences and inclusion for all students. Big Picture students are independent, driven and self-motivated learners. They are eager to explore potential career fields through internships, and are excited to discover their true passion.

International Student

International School

Grades 6-12

Graduates from International School take an average of seven Advanced Placement courses and students can earn college credit in math, computer science, and technology as well. Students complete an extensive capstone Senior Project, which involves deep learning in an area of student choice, internships, community service, and assessment by an expert panel.

Early Learning & After School

We offer educational and care programs for children 30 months of age through 5th grade. Each of our programs is designed to provide your child with a variety of experiences and opportunities to ensure they will become a life-long learner.

Registration for returning students begins January 20, 2017.
Registration for new students begins January 25, 2017.

Preschool

For Children 3 Years Old – 5 Years Old

Preschool curriculum prepares your child to be successful kindergartner in the Bellevue School District. Our preschools offer flexible options and are conveniently located at many elementary schools. Starting in the 2017-18 school year, we are not accepting any students younger than 3 years old. Student must be 3 years on or before August 31.

Before & After School Care is conveniently located at many elementary schools to ensure a smooth transition between the school day and the program. The daily schedule includes fun and engaging activities designed to support skills learned during the school day.
