Gifted Programs

The Gifted Program is designed for students who demonstrate outstanding levels of aptitude (defined as an exceptional ability to reason and learn) through cognitive (mental abilities and processes related to knowledge) and academic (measures achievment in subjects of study) testing and superior academic performance whose academic needs are beyond the scope of the general education classroom.  The curriculum is one or more grade level advanced.  For example, second graders are learning third grade curriculum.  Learning goes beyond the knowledge and procedural levels and students gain a more conceptual understanding of the subject matter.
