The mathematics materials adoption process will be congruent with the BSD Mission Statement and the Adoption Process Core Values.

BSD Mission Statement

To provide every student with a top-of-the-line college preparatory education so that they can enter and succeed in the college or university of their choice.

Adoption Process Core Values

  • Balance between problem solving, conceptual understanding and procedural skills

  • Provides preparation for college and life

  • Articulation between grade levels

  • Accessible to a diverse student population

  • Content matches state and national standards

  • Mastery of concepts is clearly defined

  • Students practice and develop problem solving skill

  • Consistent with current research about teaching and learning

 

 

 

Review the proposed math materials and provide input

Hard copies of proposed materials are available for viewing at Bellevue, Interlake, Newport and Sammamish High School libraries.  After viewing the materials, the adoption committee would appreciate your input via a survey, also available in the libraries.  Procedures for Evaluating Textbooks & Library Hours and Parent Review Rubric.
