Bellevue School District is currently in the
process of reviewing and field studying two literacy programs for a K-5
materials adoption. The two programs under consideration are Houghton
Mifflin Harcourt’s Journeys and Pearson’s Good Habits, Great
Readers. The district’s Initial Review Committee selected these
programs because they utilize research based reading instruction, a
balanced literacy framework, and incorporate guided reading. The
structure of both sets of materials allows for teachers to make
instructional choices based on the needs of their students. Please
watch for upcoming parent information nights to learn more.
