Dear Odle Families:

We are writing to you today because of changes that will be made in the after-school programs at Odle this coming fall. This past year, Odle’s after-school program has been run by the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club and was funded by the City of Bellevue.

This coming year, the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club will be focusing their efforts and resources on their own sites, such as the Teen Excellence Center. This means that there will be no “on-site” after-school recreation program provided at Odle this coming fall, although the Boys and Girls Club will still bring their vans to school to pick up students interested in going to the Teen Excellence Center. Odle will still be offering our school run sports and clubs such as French Club, Jazz Club, Service Club, Future Problem Solvers, etc.

At the same time, Odle will be launching new programs and initiatives designed to meet the needs of its students.  Additionally, Odle as part of the Bellevue School District, will be joining the City of Bellevue and the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club in exploring ways to make an even bigger impact for our families through the Eastside Pathways Initiative.

While we all understand the impact that not having a 2:30 to 5:30 recreational program at Odle will have on our families, we are very hopeful that our combined efforts next year will result in even better after-school programs for our students and families in years to come.

Sincerely,

Eric McDowell
