Background Information
Mr. James is in his 11th year as the Newport High School Athletic/Activity Director. It is his 17th year as an Athletic Administrator and his 33rd year overall in public education. He oversees all Co-Curricular programs along with assisting in Student Government and ASB.
Prior to his work at Newport, he was the District Athletic/Activity Director for the Anacortes School District for four years. Prior to that he taught Physical Education and Traffic Safety at Nooksack Valley Jr./Sr. High School for sixteen years. During his teaching tenure he also coached football, basketball and track. He holds a Masters in Athletic Administration from Washington State University. He also holds a Bachelors of Education from Western Washington University.
