There are many questions about changing the semester end date and adding school days to the calendar. The first two snow make-up days will be added to the District calendar as follows.

One snow make-up day will occur on:
January 30, 2012 for secondary students (this was a professional day for grades 6-12)
March 16, 2012 for elementary students (this was a professional day for grades K-5)

The second snow make-up day will occur on:
June 22, 2012 for all students.

There is some uncertainty about the third snow make-up day based on what the State might allow in terms of waivers. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.

The semester dates and grades for secondary students will be adjusted as follows.

First semester ends Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012

Odle Middle School Showcase is now on Wednesday, January 25th

The Odle Middle School Showcase has been rescheduled to Wednesday January 25th from 6:30 to 8:15! Odle Showcase is an evening where you and your student can learn about all the amazing programs at Odle and meet Odle’s terrific teachers! Showcase is for ALL families – General Education, Special Education and Prism. Everyone is welcome! This year, you and your student will have the option of going on a guided tour and learning about all our programs OR doing your own self-guided visitation. You might choose the guided tour if this is your first child in middle school or if you are unfamiliar with Odle. You might choose the self-guided visitation if you have had children already go through middle school or if you are already familiar with Odle.

Tillicum Middle School 5th Grade Open House is also on Wednesday, January 25.

Parents, students and families interested in Tillicum Middle School can attend the Open House now scheduled for Wednesday, January 25 at 6:30 pm in the Tillicum Cafeteria. Families will learn about Tillicum programs ranging from Robotics to Peer Tutor Program to Art Club and athletics. This evening is perfect for fifth grade families looking for a smooth transition into middle school.

Testing for Gifted Programs is rescheduled for Saturday, 1/28. Prior locations and times remain the same.

• Clyde Hill students – 9 am at Clyde Hill
• Newport Heights students – 7:50 am at Newport Heights
• Stevenson students – 9 am at Stevenson
• Private School students testing at Stevenson Elementary – 8:30 am at Stevenson

If your student is not available on this date and attends a Bellevue School District School, please contact the counselor at your school to sign up for an alternate date. If your student attends a private school, please email the Gifted Office at gifted@bsd405.org to reschedule.
