Middle School Summer Program 2009

Grade 6 & 7: July 6th - July 31st
Grade 8: July 6th - August 14th

General information:

  • Bellevue District curriculum will be taught with district textbooks and resources.
  • 6th and 7th grade classes meet 2 hours a day for 4 weeks.
  • 6th and 7th grade students may not miss more than 7 hours of class in order to pass.
  • 8th grade classes meet 2 hours a day for 6 weeks.
  • 8th grade students may not miss more than 10 hours of class in order to pass.
  • Students with disabilities who, with reasonable accommodations, are able to participate and derive educational benefit in a regular classroom setting using regular curricula are eligible to apply; however special education is not available as part of the regular summer school program.
  • District grades and attendance procedures will be followed.

Program for 6th and 7th grade students:

  • July 6 - July 31
  • Period 1: 8:10 am - 10:15 am   -   Period 2: 10:20 am -12:25 pm
  • Location: Interlake High School, 16245 NE 24th St, Bellevue, WA 98008
  • Courses offered:
                     - 6th grade Language Arts/Social Studies
                     - 6th grade Math
                     - Reading
                     - 7th grade Language Arts/Social Studies
                     - 7th grade Math  
                     - 7th grade Science
  • Tuition (per class):
                     - Full: $290.00
                     - Reduced: $160.00
                     - Free: $100.00
    *Tuition Fees: Tuition Scholarship support available based on federal free/reduced lunch qualification.     
Program for 8th grade students:

  • July 6 - August 14
  • Period 1: 8:10 am - 10:15 am   -   Period 2: 10:20 am -12:25 pm
  • Location: Interlake High School, 16245 NE 24th St, Bellevue, WA 98008
  • Courses offered:
                     - 8th grade Language Arts
                     - 8th grade Social Studies
                     - 8th grade Math
                     - 8th grade Science
  • Tuition (per class):
                     - Full: $355.00
                     - Reduced: $205.00
                     - Free: $125.00
    *Tuition Fees: Tuition Scholarship support available based on federal free/reduced lunch qualification.     
Leapfrog - Math Program for 7th and 8th grade students:

  • Description: 6-week course limited to students who just finished 6th and 7th grade respectively and are wishing to accelerate.
  • July 6 - August 14
  • 7:30 am - 12:45 pm
  • Location: Interlake High School, 16245 NE 24th St, Bellevue, WA 98008
  • Tuition (per class):
                     - Full: $750.00
                     - Reduced: $440.00
                     - Free: $250.00
ESL Program for Middle School students:

  • July 6 - July 31
  • 8:10 am - 12:25 pm
  • Location: Interlake High School, 16245 NE 24th St, Bellevue, WA 98008
  • Courses offered:
                     - Beginning ESL for 6th, 7th and 8th grade
                     - Intermediate ESL for 6th, 7th and 8th grade
  • Tuition (per class):
                     - Beginning: $50.00
                     - Intermediate: $375.00 (full), $220.00 (reduced), $125.00 (free)
  • Students who do not qualify for the Beginning or Intermediate ESL classes should attend regular summer school classes for their grade level at Sammamish High School.  
  • ESL students who are moving to 9th grade in the fall of 2009 shoud read the High School ESL Summer School information.

  • Summer Program Registration forms are
    available in all Bellevue School District Middle
    Schools from the school counselors.

  • Registration forms must include principal, counselor
    and parent signature.

  • Payment must accompany registration.

  • Classes will be filled on a first come first served basis.

  • Registration deadline: JUNE 25th

  • Last day for refund: JUNE 30th  

  • Late registration starting JUNE 26th
    (Extra $25 fee & only if there is room in the class)

  • Completed registration materials should be returned to
    your home school counselor, or send it to the address
    below:

  • Out-of-district Registration Form
  • Payment must accompany registration.
  • Classes will be filled on a first come first served basis.

  • You can assume that you are enrolled in
    your class of choice unless you hear from us.
