How may I find out if school is closed?

The District is a member of the Public Schools Emergency Communications System (PSECS).  School closure information is updated through PSECS which is then accessed by numerous television and radio stations.  You can hear closure information and messages by tuning in to a local TV or radio station (please see suggestions below.  Other choices are:

Internet Sites:  http://www.schoolreport.org
Call the School news line at 425-456-4111
Register for District broadcast email at:  www.bsd405.org/districtnotification

For information regarding school closures, schedule information click here: Emergency Communications Bulletin.  Please note: Metro transportation remains on the same schedule; however, in extreme conditions Metro may need to alter their routes.  However, BSD is not aware of their route changes as they are a separate entity than BSD yellow bus schedules.  If you have any questions regarding Metro transportation please call 1-800-542-7876.

PLEASE DO NOT TELEPHONE THE TV, RADIO STATIONS OR BELLEVUE SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOOLS

All high schools and International/Robinswood schools use Metro. During periods of poor weather Metro will attempt to maintain service according to schedule - even if school is to start late. Please listen to messages and have alternative means arranged to get to and from school if poor weather is present or predicted.

Home Plan-Are You Ready?

Emergencies may require changes in bus transportation effecting the time a child gets home.  Each household should make arrangements with neighbors or friends to insure that each child has a place to stay if parents are not at home.

What is the best route home if a child cannot be delivered to the normal bus stop?

Where will your child go if help is needed?

Who will care for your child until you arrive?

Is there someone your child can call to allay fears?

How will your child get home if schools are closed and buses are not available or do not make stops at regular locations?
