Bellevue Schools broadcasts school related programing on the City of Bellevue's local Comcast cable channel number 21. Bellevue School District programing features insightful information about Bellevue Schools along with a variety of school activities and programs.
Programs will air on Bellevue cable channel 21 Tuesdays from 11 -11:30am and will repeat at 3pm and 7pm the same evening; Wednesday morning at 7am, Friday at 11am, 3pm and 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 7 am and 3pm.

Getting to Know New BSD Supt. Dr. Amalia Cudeiro plus Capital Projects update:
On this edition of School Zone we feature Bellevue Schools' new Superintendent Dr. Amalia Cudeiro. Community Relations Director Ann Oxrieder interviews the new superintendent. Dr. Cudeirio is also featured speaking to teachers just before school starts and community groups during the Fall of 2009.
Also featured -- design and progress on upcoming capital projects at Bellevue High School and Spiritridge Elementary School as described by the principal architects.

Back-to-School 2009 Edition:
Our 2009 back-to-school edition features the grand opening of the newest school in Bellevue to be rebuilt, Eastgate Elementary. View the opening day festivities and follow along as new kindergartners arrive for their first day of school and go on a tour of the brand new facility. See how the 50 year old mosaic mural done by kids in the late '50s was preserved and displayed along with a new Eagle mural that kids attending Eastgate helped create.
Design and progress on other capital projects at Armore Elementary and Tyee Middle School are described by the principal architects.

Spring for Schools 2009 Luncheon Highlights:
Community rallies behind schools during tough times:
Congratulations to all the volunteers of the Bellevue Schools Foundation and to the generous spirit of the Bellevue community when it comes to educating its children. Their annual Spring for Schools luncheon generated $564,150, far exceeding this year’s goals for the event. The funds will go towards general foundation priorities of bridging the achievement gap, academic support and teaching excellence. A heartfelt thanks from all of us in the school district for your dedication to educational quality for all our students.

Anosmia, (we’ll leave it to you to figure out what that is) The Foods Class, The Electronic Music Class the Barque Newspaper, The Weekly Television Broadcast, all are topics treated by documentaries produced by students in Brad Conger’s Media Production classes at Bellevue High School. You’ll see this eclectic collection of productions on the School Zone.

Sherwood Forest Elementary School unveils its newly installed art panels depicting the life cycle of salmon and its importance to the local environment. Sherwood Forest students take part in the raising of salmon eggs and follow along the life cycle.
The district is also exporing ways to incorporate building techniques that increase efficiencies and reduce power costs as it updates its older buildings. Eastgate Elementary is being rebuilt with energy conservation in mind and the new concession stand at Interlake High School incorporates special solar panels to cover its electrical needs.

The New Biology:
The Bellevue School District is pioneering a new curriculum for biology, one that will keep pace with exciting developments in the field. Researchers from the Institute for Systems Biology worked with Bellevue biology teachers and curriculum developers to come up with real life biology investigations that translate well into the high school classroom. Features International School Biology teacher Claudia Ludwig. Also includes a quick view into an elementary science lesson based on the district's Project Discovery curriculum. This School Zone first aired in November 2004 and let’s you experience one of the new modules in that curriculum.

Spring for Schools 2005 Luncheon Highlights:
Bellevue Schools Foundation annual fundraising luncheon is featured in this edition of the School Zone. Featured speaker is Bellevue Schools Superintendent, Dr. Mike Riley. The district's new middle school language arts program, Springboard is featured.
