Newly rebuilt Sherwood Forest and Newport Heights Elementaries open to rave reviews - September 2008

The newly reconstructed Sherwood Forest and Newport Heights Elementary School opened to rave reviews as school opened on Sept. 15, 2008. Students and staff were glad to be back in the neighborhood sites and both communities liked the finished product. Take a virtual tour of Bellevue's latest school rebuild projects.

Visitors to Newport Heights will start here at the main office.

 



 

The interior design and orientation of the Sherwood Forest takes
advantage of the abundance of natural light - here lighting
up the new central staircase, main office area, casual seating.
The library entrance also opens into this central grand open space.

One of two multipurpose areas - this one for PE and adjacent second multipurpose area is both stage area and lunchroom.

 

Sherwood students get a tour of playground. The popular bear statue from the old school enjoys a prominent spot.

 

 

The new library is outfitted with the latest high technology
teaching aids including Smartboad and brand new PC
computers.

 

Sherwood's interior design includes plenty of informal seating areas sprinked throughout the new school.

Clyde Hill Elementary opens new Multipurpose/Classroom
addition in spring of 2008

 

Progress continues on Eastgate Elementary  

Clyde Hill Elementary received a new Multipurpose building in spring of 2008 which includes gym, theatre, lunchroom, music room and two new classrooms. The old multipurpose building was converted into new classrooms.

 

Meanwhile progress continues at Eastgate Elementary site - on schedule for occupancy in September 2009.
