MathExpressionsEric.jpg At the afternoon session of the March 18th School Board Meeting, Eric McDowell, K-12 Math Developer and Dr. Jan Zuber, Assistant Superintendent, Curriculum Development & Implementation, provided a summary to the Board of the K-5 Math pilot that was conducted in 100 elementary classrooms involving over 2,000 Bellevue students this fall.  At that time, the recommendation was made that Math Expressions, published by Houghton Mifflin, be adopted as the core K-5 math program to be implemented in September 2008.  Background information and data to support this recommendation was captured in the Elementary Mathematics Pilot Final Report.   This comprehensive report describes the math pilot process and results of the pilot including teacher survey and student assessment data.  Use the links in the drop down menu below to access the report and appendices.
