State antes up to train students for jobs in trades
(4/3/08) The Seattle Times reports Gov. Christine Gregoire last week signed legislation calling for the first overhaul in 20 years of the state's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Congratulations Photographers!
Two Bellevue High photo students are regional winners at the Puget Sound Educational Service District Regional High School Art Show. Their images will now move on to compete at the state level. Please congratulate AP photo students Bianca Casimes and Chris Mutzel. Both are students in Debby Nixon's AP Photography program. Bianca is also enrolled in Claudia Brower's AP Studio Art class.

WakeUp! Awarded First Place The Radio/TV students produce and broadcast the morning bulletin to the BHS student body in a show they call "WakeUp!" They entered one of their shows into the Washington Journalism Education Association - Video Broadcasting Contest and came away with the first place Superior Award! Be sure to congratulate the winning production team if you see them: Colin Rice, Shayda Soleiman, Ian Burgess, Sue Kim and Allison Campbell. They are doing exceptional work. BHS Student Photographers Selected as National Finalists Congratulations to Bellevue High Photo students Gregory Barello, Carmen Danesmandi and Nichole Taylor. They were selected as finalists in the Drexel University National High School Competition of Media Arts and Design. Their photos are currently on display in Drexel's photo gallery in Philadelphia. Their images were chosen from over 2300 entries nationwide. All are AP students in Debby Nixon's photography class.
