Process

Bellevue School District is committed to providing all students with an exemplary college preparatory education so they can succeed in college, career and life. In order to continue to deliver on this promise, the Bellevue School District is in the process of developing its Strategic Plan that will guide our efforts to achieve the mission of the district.

For the past year, the Bellevue community has provided feedback on a direction for it's public schools in the form of a developing five-year strategic plan. Six community forums, fifteen focus groups, ten strategic plan advisory committee meetings, a summit event and three web surveys all provided feedback on everything from math curriculum to a child's social and emotional well-being. The Strategic Plan is a community-based effort to develop a set of guiding principles and actionable strategies to guide the District’s short and long term plan to achieve success for all children.

The plan will include updated District priorities, goals and strategies to achieve identified goals. The Strategic Plan will be based on the ability to achieve the community’s vision for the education of children in Bellevue as well as the District’s current and future financial outlook. The plan is based on surveys, focus groups and large community forums as well as recommendations from the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee. The final plan will include goals and inititives as well as a district scorecard.

Inquiries can be e-mailed to: strategicplan@bsd405.org

Role

The role of the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee will be to provide insights and make recommendations to the District on the Strategic Plan’s guiding principles, priorities, goals, initiatives, and strategies. Information will be gathered through community input and feedback through meetings, surveys, focus groups and other communication channels. The Committee will review drafts of the plan at different phases and provide feedback based on consistent public input.
