April 13, 2015
Students at Clyde Hill Elementary will get a special treat on April 23, 2015, when New York Times Bestselling Author, Kirby Larson visits. In a series of presentations, Larson will discuss her writing background and explain how her award winning books Duke, Dash, Nubs, The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine and a Miracle, and Two Bobbies, A True Story of Hurricane Katrina, Friendship and Survival, Hattie Big Sky and Hattie Ever After came to be written.
Larson’s book Two Bobbies, A True Story of Hurricane Katrina, Friendship and Survival, co-written with Mary Nethery, was the Washington Children’s Choice Picture Book for 2010 and their book Nubs, The True Story of a Mutt, a Marine and a Miracle was the 2011 winner. Larson’s newest book, Hattie Ever After, was released in February, and continues the story of 17-year-old orphan Hattie Inez Brooks. A special thank you to our Clyde Hill PTA for sponsoring this exciting opportunity! Stay tuned for more exciting details!
