coach-buckmaster

Thank you Coach Buckmaster on 47 years of Service with the Bellevue School District and 37 years with Bellevue High School.  Below is a recap of the recognition ceremony for Coach Buckmaster at the football game on 10-14-2016.

We are very honored to have had Coach Buck here at Bellevue High School for the last 37 years! For those of you who do not know Coach Buck, he has been the Freshmen Football Coach for 16 seasons, and prior to that he served as a Varsity assistant coach. Buckmaster also coached boys and girls basketball and baseball in the Bellevue attendance area over the last 47 years.

Neil has coached over 1,100 STUDENT ATHLETES!! He has seen fathers and their son’s come through his program over the years and many have served as his assistant coaches. Neil has been a solid part of the Bellevue High School Football foundation, teaching the fundamentals of football and the Wing T.   This is Neil’s biggest passion for coaching, the opportunity to work with the freshmen and continue to teach and emphasize the basics.

Coach Buck is leaving Bellevue Football with an overall record of 111-12 and nine undefeated seasons! He has left behind more than just an impressive winning record, the memories and lessons that student athletes will cherish forever. Here are some of Coach Buckmaster’s quotes or better known as his “isms” shared by our Senior Football players:

“Hey defense, the reason why you are wearing pads is because this game is called tackle football, now go tackle someone”

Words to live by, you can be the hammer or the nail”

“Hey QB, that throw looks like a duck, glad I’m not hunting”

Ability is important and dependability is critical”

“Guys, stop looking at the scoreboard, you look terrible, run the play the way its supposed to be run and let me keep the real score”

Thank you Coach Buckmaster for the near half century you have spent in our community educating our students and coaching our athletes. We are forever in debt to you for your time, commitment and sacrifices that you have made.   A plaque will be mounted at the North End of the Stadium on the home side as a constant reminder of the impact you have had on so many!

Congratulations on your retirement!
