We are excited to share our draft Schoolwide Behavior Plan with you and share our next steps related to PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) at our school.

For those of you who were unable to attend our December community meeting, I have attached the Schoolwide Behavior Plan that was reviewed at that time. The plan was developed with input by our PBIS team (consisting of teachers, parents and administration), and is a direct result of our fall Listening tour and our student Panorama data. Due to the size of the document, it has taken longer than expected to get the document translated to Spanish, however, we expect to have the Spanish translation of the document sent later this week.

I have also attached a Community Report that shows the data from the first week of the PBIS reset and a calendar of events.  The Community Report will be our baseline data moving forward.  We will be sharing behavior data the first week of every month, so you can expect the next data set to be released on January 29th, just prior to our February 1st Ardmore Community Meeting.  We are anticipating showing success with our behavioral expectations as they relate to our common areas (café, playground, hallways, bathrooms).  Our primary goal for tracking data and making adjustments is to continually improve our positive culture and climate at Ardmore, ensuring that all students feel safe and supported in their learning.

As a reminder – two meetings are scheduled for the month of January that relate to the PBIS reset:

  • Schoolwide Behavior Plan Q&A: Wednesday, January 17, 2018,  6-7:30pm.  During this time, school administration will hold an open forum for parents to ask questions regarding the Schoolwide Behavior Plan.  Interpreters and childcare will be provided.
  • Ardmore Community Meeting: Thursday, February 1, 2018, 6:30-8:00pm.  This will be a forum to look at our successes and challenges from January’s PBIS reset, as well as review with parents what next-steps will be taken in February to continue to improve in our targeted areas, based on data.  Interpreters and childcare will be provided.

I look forward to continually improving our school and continuing the conversation with you this winter! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!  millerc@bsd405.org
