Board meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month and are subject to change, most often during school breaks. If a particular agenda item would benefit from an evening meeting, the Board will make a timely announcement about a time change. Audio is recorded at the Board Meetings.

Special Meeting Dates

Special Meetings are announced within 24 hours of being held. They are called by the board president, or by a majority of the board, and are typically held to deal with emergencies, study sessions that are not regularly scheduled, board retreats and school visits.*

Date	Purpose	Time
5/22 - 5/24/12	The Board will hold a Special Meeting on May 22, 23 and 24 to consider the qualifications of a candidate for public employment. These Special Meetings will consist of an Executive Session so that the Board may interview Superintendent Candidates every day. This Executive Session is authorized by RCW 42.30.110(g) to review the qualifications of a candidate for public employment or the performance of a public employee. Prior to and after the Executive Session, the Board will convene into an open session, which the public may attend, so that they Board can remain on site and participate in the community forums. See attached schedule for details on date, time and location. The below schedule reflects which sessions are open to the public and which are not. Locations: May 22, 2012, at International School, 445 ‐ 128th Ave. SE, Bellevue; May 23, 2012, at International School, 445 ‐ 128th Ave. SE, Bellevue; May 24, 2012, at Interlake High School, 16245 NE 24th St., Bellevue Daily Schedule Open Sessions 6:45 a.m. ‐7:10 a.m. Bellevue School Foundation Host Coffee Reception 7:15 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. Morning Community Forum (Special Invitation to the Bellevue School Foundation and Business Leaders) Staff is welcome to attend. 8:25 a.m. – 9:05 a.m. Central Office Administration and Staff 9:15 a.m. – 9:55 a.m. Classified Union Representatives 10:05 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Superintendent’s Cabinet 10:55 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. Principals and Assistant Principals 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Board will meet in Open Session and immediately recess into Executive Session to review finalist qualifications. Executive Sessions 1:00 p.m. – 3:10 p.m. Board Interview (Continuation of the Executive Session) 3:20 p.m.—3:40 p.m. Eva Collins Debriefs the Board (Continuation ‐ Ex. Session) 3:45 p. m. – 3:55 p.m. Board Meets Community Observer Panel (Ex. Session) 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Board Follow Up Interview with the Community Observer Panel present. (Continuation of the Executive Session) 5:10 p.m. – 6:10 p.m. Board and finalist dinner. (Continuation – Ex Session) Open Session 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Evening Community Forum with the Community Observer Panel present. (Special invitation to Student Leadership) Staff is welcome. Executive Session 7:35 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Community Observer Panel provides feedback to the Board. 5/19/12	The Board will hold a Special Meeting on May 19, 2012 from 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wilburton Instructional Service Center, in the Baker Room, to consider the qualifications of a candidate for public employment. This Special Meeting will consist of an Executive Session so that the Board may interview Superintendent candidates from 8 a.m. to 5:25 p.m. This Executive Session is authorized by RCW 42.30.110(g), to review the qualifications of an applicant for public employment. Thereafter, the Board will convene into an open session which the public may attend. The Board may take action to identify finalists for the position of Superintendent who will be interviewed individually the week of May 22-24 and may discuss other logistical issues associated with the hiring process. Schedule 7:45 a.m. – 7:55 a.m. – Open Session, Board of Directors meet for orientation 8:00 a.m. – 5:25 p.m. – Executive Session, Interview of Superintendent Candidates 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Open Session, Board of Directors Select the Finalists in Open Session	7:45 a.m.
5/10/12	School Visit - Bellevue High This visit has been canceled	7:00 a.m.

*During the school year our Board of Directors regularly visit our schools on a rotating basis to meet with the staff and community, observe classrooms and activities, etc
