Q:  We live in another school district.  How do we transfer our student(s) into the Bellevue School District?

A:  The Student Placement office handles inter-district transfers.  Contact them at 425-456-4200.

Q:  We live in the Bellevue School District.  How do I register my child at a school other than the one in our neighborhood?

A:  If you live within the Bellevue School District, students may “Open Enroll” into another school, if there is room in that school.  The open enrollment period is during January/February.   If you are a current District resident, contact the Student Placement office (425-456-4200) during that time.  

Q:  Do you hold informational meetings for parents of incoming Kindergartners, 6^th and 9^th graders?

A:  Yes.  Information meetings are held during the second half of the school year, sometime between January and June.  Information will be posted here when it becomes available.

Q:  What are the school holidays this year?

A:  Visit the current school year calendar.  

Q:  What time does school start and end?

A:   Times vary by school.  Visit the Start & Dismissal Times page.

Q:  What time does my bus come?

A:  Bus schedules are available online.  You can access that information on our Transportation Services page.

Q:  What is for lunch today?

A:  School lunch menus are available online.  You can access them on our Nutrition Services page.

Q:  It’s snowing.  Will there be school in the morning?

A:  You can get up-to-date information about school closures on our website under Emergency Closure Information, by signing up for District Email Notification or School Messenger, or by calling the 24-hour Newsline at 425-456-4111.

Q:  I'm unhappy with something at my child's school.  Who do I talk to?

A:  Start with your child's teacher.  After talking with the teacher, if you still have concerns, contact the school principal.  If you disagree with the principal's decision, discuss it with the principal, then contact the Director of School Support at 425-456-4108.

Q:  How do I contact the School Nurse?

Q:  What are the District’s high school graduation requirements?

Q:  I’m concerned about my child’s safety.  How do I report a threat of violence or weapons on campus?

A:  Weapons of any kind are forbidden on school grounds.  The District has set up a 24-hour tip line at 425-456-TIPS (8477) to report any violence, threats or rumors or violence and weapons violations.  Full-time Bellevue Police officers have also been assigned to each high school.

Q:  Does the District have a program to assist students who are English-as-a-Second-Language Learners?

A:  ESL/ELL classes are offered at a number of our schools.  For more information, contact our ESL/ELL Program Office at 425-456-4135 or visit their webpage.

Q:  How can I find out more about the Gifted program?

Q:  How can I find out more about the District’s Spanish Immersion program?

A:  To learn more about the Spanish Immersion program in the Bellevue School District, contact one of the participating schools: Puesta del Sol Elementary, Tillicum Middle School and Newport High School.

Q:  Does the District offer driver training?

A:  Not at this time.

A:  Dr. Justin "Tim" Mills joined the district as Superintendent in July 2012.  Superintendent information

Q:  When is the next school board meeting?

A:  Regular school board meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of each month, beginning at 4:30 p.m.  The board does change its meeting schedule from time to time, so visit the School Board Meeting Information page to confirm the date and location and see the upcoming agenda.

Q:  Who are the school board members and how can I contact them?

A:  Locate your school board member and find their contact information on the School Board page.

Q:  How can I stay informed about District events, proposed policy changes and current challenges facing the District?

A:  Visit the Email Sign-Up page to sign up to receive periodic newsletters, announcements of District meetings and emergency school closure information.  We also have a list of important dates and news items on our home page.

Q:  What is the District enrollment and ethnic breakdown?

Q:  Where do I get more information about the District and individual schools?

Q:  How do I request public records?

A:  Requests for disclosure of public records should be directed to the District’s General Counsel Office at 425-456-4068.  You may also email publicrecords@bsd405.org. 

Q:  How do I get a copy of my transcript?

A:  Current students should contact their registrar.  Graduates of the Bellevue School District can contact the District Records Office at 425-456-4150 or visit the Transcript Request page for more information.

Q:  How do I get copies of District forms, such as the Community Service form?

A:  Visit the District Forms page.

Q:  I’m a non-English speaking parent.  Are translators available for District forms and letters?

A:  Parents should call their school to request a translator for school conferences or when they have general questions about the District.
