Summer Fun Programs

June 24th, 2013 through August 23rd, 2013

Events include the Pacific Science Center, KidsQuest Museum, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Woodland Park Zoo, Arena Sports and much more! Your child's summer will be filled with fun and excitement. Field trips, snacks, specialist classes and special events are all included in one weekly fee. Centers open as early as 6:30am and close as late as 6:00pm.

Digging the Past
June 24th - June 28th
Discover all things prehistoric! Excavate a wooly mammoth, create dinosaur skeletons, uncover fossils and grow prehistoric plants.

Cast Off!
July 1st - July 5th (closed July 4th)
Shiver me timbers! Create boats to explore buoyancy, make a compass and barometer and discover their importance to pirates.

Space is the Place
July 8th - July 12th
Blast off in a bubble powered rocket. Create a start finder and galactic mobile. Identify stellar constellations and cook some astronaut food.

Back to Nature
July 15th - July 19th
Trek into the wild. Design an animal mask, paint a ladybug rock, build a bird house and participate in a nature scavenger hunt.

Rhythm Nation
July 22nd - July 26th
Join the Trash Band! Make an instrument from recycled materials. Explore different sytle of dance and learn about music from around the world.

Kid Power
July 29th - August 2nd
All about YOU! Make an anatomy chart, discover what makes you unique, learn some new fitness moves and see how your body responds. Enjoy an all center field day at Lake Hills Park.

Wind and Sea
August 5th - August 9th
From the depths of the oceans to high in the sky. Make an edible aquarium and hot air balloons. Discover how flotation and aerodynamics help boats and planes.

Circuit Zone
August 12th - August 16th
Connections made. Learn about electricity and battery power. Create circuits using play dough and potatoes.

Simply Science
August 19th - August 23rd
Explore the mysteries of science. Create dancing dolls, make invisible ink, learn about chemical reactions when making elephant toothpaste.

Umami - The Science of Cooking
July 8th - July 12th
Discover how a pinch of curiosity can improve your cooking abilities. During a field trip to the Great Harvest Bakery in Factoria we'll see bakers in action and enjoy some fresh from the oven treats.

Picture This
July 15th - July 19th
A look through the lens from the beginning of film and photography. Make your own pinhole camera and learn about light and composition as it relates to photography.

Out of this World
July 22nd - July 26th
Unearth the many aspects of space and space travel. Fly to the moon and beyond in our investigation into how black holes form, the speed of light and if life exists on other planets. We'll also visit the Boeing Museum of Flight to learn about the history of aviation.

Roll With It
July 29th - August 2nd
Water wheels to Ferris wheels; bikes to cars-- if it has wheels, we're talking about it. Discover where the wheel started to what it has become today. Create wheeled toys with Rick Hartman from the School of Toy.

Garden Delight
August 5th - August 9th
Going green and growing a living lunch. All the essentials to support your budding gardener's interests. Spend some time outside planting healthy ideas from composting to sprouting seedlings. Seattle Tilth will teach us about Mighty Arthropods that call soil home.
